AI Architect — Model Design, Training & Multi-Modal Deployment

Overview

Design, train, and deploy the multi-modal models behind Labs Intelligence — the AI substrate for every Labs product, from Yuhmmy's taste intelligence to XR perception.

Mission

The 7 Frontier Intelligences begin with Superintelligence. This role is the architect of that beginning — models that perceive, reason, and act across modalities in service of human enhancement.

What you'll do

• Own model architecture decisions across text, vision, audio, and sensor modalities
• Build and operate the training stack — data pipelines, distributed runs, evaluation harnesses
• Design the deployment path: quantization, serving (vLLM/Triton), latency and cost budgets
• Stand up RLHF/preference-tuning loops with product feedback in the loop
• Set research-to-production standards for every Labs team consuming models
• Mentor engineers and researchers; review the hard technical calls

Minimum qualifications

• 7+ years in ML engineering with 3+ training or fine-tuning large models
• Deep PyTorch or JAX; real distributed-training experience (FSDP/DeepSpeed/TPU or equivalent)
• Production inference at scale — you have owned a serving fleet and its bill
• Strong evaluation instincts: you measure before and after you believe

Preferred qualifications

• Multimodal or embodied-AI research record
• CUDA/Triton kernel work
• RLHF pipelines in production

Nice to have

• Open-source contributions to the ML stack
• Publications or patents
• Edge/on-device deployment
