AI Researcher — Contextual, Perceptive & Sensorial Intelligence

Overview

Push the frontier of machines that perceive context and sensation — taste, space, emotion, and the signals in between — and turn findings into Labs' product advantage.

Mission

Labs' thesis is that the next platforms are sensorial. This role invents the perceptive substrate: models that understand what humans feel, crave, and experience — starting with taste.

What you'll do

• Define and run research agendas in contextual, perceptive, and sensorial intelligence
• Build datasets and evaluations for senses no benchmark covers yet (taste, craving, ambiance)
• Prototype models with the AI Architect and productize the ones that work
• Publish, patent, and present — inside Labs (TubeTechTalks) and to the field
• Collaborate with design and product on human studies and sensory UX

Minimum qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research experience in ML, perception, HCI, or neuroscience-adjacent ML
• First-author publications or shipped research artifacts
• Strong PyTorch experimentation velocity
• Taste (literally) for problems without benchmarks

Preferred qualifications

• Multimodal or sensor-fusion research
• Human-subject study experience
• Embodied or robotics perception

Nice to have

• Food science, olfaction/gustation research curiosity
• Open-source research code
• Science communication
